Ron Smith celebrated 50 YEARS with State Farm in 2024. He couldn't have done it without our neighbors and friends. Thank you Englewood!
Our agency has grown steadily over the years, relocating three times, and we’ve seen an incredible amount of growth in the Englewood area. Today, our office is centrally located at the corner of 776 and Dearborn in Englewood. In the mid 1970’s, Englewood consisted of a two-lane road with a couple stop lights. Dearborn Street had a post office, an ice cream shop, and a hardware store. There was very little traffic, and there was never a problem finding a parking spot at the beach.
Ron loves the insurance business even after all these years and has no intention of retiring. He most enjoys meeting our policyholders and creatively solving problems. While he now spends time in both Florida and North Carolina, he is at the office daily when in Florida. He is married and has four adult children, three of whom work under the same roof. Ron enjoys walking the dogs (Cricket and Luke), golfing, traveling, and watching sports. While in North Carolina, he spends his time hiking, riding ATV’s, taking scenic mountain drives, and traveling in their RV.
Our awesome staff includes our customer account team of Cindy, Earl, Joann and Vicky; our service team Ellie, Mary and Ashleah; Nancy and Tammara, our directors of first impressions; and Trisha, our office manager.
Cindy has been with our agency for 18 years. She enjoys camping in their fifth-wheel and hopes to travel the country in it one day. Earl has been with us for 15 years, is happily married with two amazing kids, sings and plays the guitar. Joann joined us from a State Farm agency in Texas 5 years ago. She is a published poet, abstract artist, and jazz/blues singer. She volunteers for the Humane Society and local hunger relief programs. Vicky has been in the insurance business for 40+ years and with us for 4. In her free time, she enjoys listening to live local bands and dancing. You may also find her on a boat, an E-bike, or on the back of a motorcycle. Tammara comes from a teaching career, and recently moved to Florida from Iowa with her husband to be closer to the beach. She enjoys reading, singing, creating art, and walking by the ocean. Trisha is Ron’s daughter and officially started working for the agency at the age of 13 (35+ years ago) cleaning and filing. She is a competitive rower and has two dogs, Otis and Izzy, that she brings to work on occasion. Ellie has been with our agency for 9 years and in personal lines insurance for 30+ years. Vacationing in Key West or cruising the Caribbean are her favorite ways to spend her free time. Mary has been in the insurance business for 30+ years and has worked on and off for Ron for many of those years! She and her husband enjoy spending time with their extended family and their two cats. Nancy has been with the office for 34 years and enjoys the camaraderie of our team. In her spare time, she loves to read, go to the beach, and travel. Nancy will be retiring in December from our Agency and she will be greatly missed!
